"Friendly welcome, lovely room, excellent bathroom"

The location is lovely, just wished it had been summer time! Meals beside the window, looking out at the river a few feet away and the birds, were a delight.

Friendly welcome, location beside the river, clean rooms, comfortable bed, given an upgrade to a room with a river view, excellent spacious bathroom, able to come and go without problem.

We only stayed one night to visit my dad in a local nursing home.

The welcome was very friendly. The balcony room when we woke up was stunning views of the river. The room was excellent with top notch facilities. Breakfast was good quality.

"Wonderful location and superb accommodation"

During one of the coldest periods of the winter, the room was warm and snug. Both our room and the public areas of the house itself were very comfortable and elegantly appointed. We were made extremely welcome throughout our stay. The visitor information package was outstanding. And we woke to one of the most scenic views, over the estuary of the River Torridge, that I can remember seeing from any house - perfectly framed by the large windows of our room.

The position, right on the banks of the Torridge, is outstanding. The house has been extensively and luxuriously modernised. Access to Bideford, to restaurants and to the A39 is very convenient.

"This is an extremly cood qualiity bed and breakfast establishment."

We stayed for two nights following a holiday on Lundy Island.The house and the area surpassed our expectations.
Our hosts were helpful and friendly.
The room was of a very high standard and there was also a very nice lounge are that guests can use.
We had an evening meal on one night.The food was excellent

We were made very welcome and felt 'at home'. Simon and Donna were friendly without being too familiar. We were too tired to go out to eat so when I asked if we could have a light supper, soup perhaps, we received beautiful home made soup and bread. We enjoyed walking along the Tarka trail which was very close by and the following day we hired bicycles and cycled to Instow

"beautiful, scenic location, 2 min's, by bike, from Tarka Trail, very warm welcome."

This beautiful spacious cottage sits right on the river. My plan was to cycle the Tarka trail on two days and River Cottage was ideally placed for this activity. Simon and Donna made me very welcome as did their very well behaved dogs, Charlie and puppy Chloe.

The decor and finish at the b&b were wonderful the bedding and linen were very high quality. The best thing was Simon and Donna, who made me so welcome and who were so helpful. Fantastic views.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived. A beautifully decorated house and a totally relaxed and very friendly environment. Perfect location for touring this north corner of Devon. We stayed in the riveside room and enjoyed the benefits of warm morning sunshine and sitting out on the balcony.

The owners, Simon & Donna clearly know how to offer the best in hospitality service and clearly enjoy the experience. They are warm and cheerful hosts and we wish them well for the future.

"The perfect retreat for any occasion."

Our stay was brief but highly enjoyable. The weather wasn't too kind but that didn't detract from our time spent in the area. It was our wedding anniversary so we went to Instow and a restaurant called "Decks". The location is stunning, overlooking the estuary and the food was outstanding. The best places to visit were Lynton & Lynmouth and Woolacoombe that has a spectacular setting.

Riverside Cottage is a beautiful property in a stunning location. Donna and Simon are a wonderful couple and nothing is too much trouble.

"By far the best B and B i have ever stayed in"

The initial greeting by Donna made us feel like we had hit B and B gold, a really friendly and inviting start that made us feel like old friends who hadn’t visited for awhile. Rooms were indulgent and we settled in an instant. Owners were so hospitable at all times and great to hold in conversation. The view at breakfast is across the River Torridge, with the Sun just rising it gave you one of those moments that brought a smile across the face

We had the room with the balcony which gave us a lovely view over the river. The room was quiet, clean, modern with a lovely bathroom with under floor heating. The hosts were friendly and flexible. I was running the Bideford 1/2 marathon and not only did they go out of their way to do a special runner's breakfast, they also cheered me along on the way!

"Room with a view"

Ask for the Balcony room - this allows you to take in the special views both up and down the river. There is plenty of wildlife to see - including a kingfisher! Simon, our host, was very friendly and our breakfast set us up for the day. We enjoyed our stay and would return if again in the area. Cottage is in good location to visit some fantastic beaches.

Riverside cottage is set along the Torridge Estuary just outside of Bideford. The Balcony Room is outstanding and has wonderful views along the Estuary. The room is beautifully decorated, as is the whole house. It is exceptionally clean and tidy. Tea/coffee making facilities plus gorgeous biscuits in the room. Lovely en suite facilities with large shower cubicle. The breakfast was a good choice of juice, cereals, fruit and lovely cooked breakfast.

The location, views, room and breakfast. The owners, Simon and Donna, made the whole stay so lovely and welcoming. Charlie the dog is delightful and loved seeing him each morning and evening.

"HOME FROM HOME"

As soon as we walked through the front door we were greeted by three friendly smiles - Donna, Simon and Charlie (the beautiful Springer Spaniel). There isn't anything they won't do for you. Cakes and scones are Donna's speciality and Simon cooks a mean breakfast!!. If you get the chance and your budget allows make sure you book the Riverside Room - the view is simply stunning.
We really hope that business continues to grow for this young couple. Highly recommend.

Riverside Cottage is made to feel like your home as soon as you walk through the door. Peace and tranquility and Donna's cream teas.

Excellent B&B, fabulous location. Facilities were excellent, the iPod payer, WiFi etc put the finishing touches on an already great B&B.

It was all good but the attention to detail (WiFi access, iPod doc in the room, TV, catered for our vegan dietary requirements) and very friendly and helpful owners made it a joy.
