Riverside Cottage
For those of us who like to leave the car behind there is any number of the 3,500 miles of footpaths in Devon. There is a network of trails on Dartmoor and Exmoor to suit different abilities and of varying times and distances. Devon is hailed a county of natural outstanding beauty and as a result is littered with a number of trails and rights of way, with few roads to interrupt a peaceful hike. Discover the only National Trail in the country, The South West Coast Path. It is comprehensively marked on both north & south coasts, varies from easy strolling to arduous challenges & during anytime of year it never fails to be beautiful. The path has been created by fishermen, coastguards and smugglers over the centuries and now covers 90 miles along the North Devon coast & 115 miles in the South.
